STARS Conference

The Peace Corps Volunteer coordinated STARS (Students Taking Action Reaching for Success)Conference promoting leadership and youth development was held May 29th, 2011- June 4th, 2011 at KNUST (Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology) in Kumasi. This is the second time I've participated in the conference and it is definitely a highlight of my Peace Corps Service.

Each year students from all over Ghana come together to learn and celebrate leadership and potential. This year's conference was a total hit. We did HIV/AIDS education, Hands-On Activities, Community Service, and Tertiary Education Day. For the specific details of the conference and a lovely recap of each of the days activities check out the The STARS Conference Blog.

Here are some pictures I took over the week that I thought would give you a little peek into the week's event:

Name Change

You may have noticed that "The Rrhea River Blog" has recently been renamed "Movin' Right Along". This is in the spirit of my long time love of the Muppets and the fact that my Peace Corps Service will be coming to a close on July 13th, 2011. It's been a great run but it's time for something new. Movin' Right Along.
